The Air Classroom
The classroom is painted in white, which represents the element of Air.
The photo wallpaper shows the infinity of space and fields of gentle dandelion puffs floating in the air.
The wallpaper also contains information and quotations on the Air element.
Educational information:
Air keeps us warm in winter.
Air is vital for life on Earth.
The movement of air creates cold wind.
There is no life without air.
Air is vital for breathing.
Air is necessary for combustion.
We use positive affirmations to create love for Nature and compassion for its manifestations.
Nature is beautiful!
Nature is a source of life and inspiration!
Nature is wealth!
We use words of wisdom to help promote students’ core values and responsibilities.
‘As a human being and the pinnacle creation of Nature I have the responsibility to nurture life and air,
and maintain the harmony between people, Earth and Nature.
This is my responsibility today, as tomorrow might be too late!’
….Here is what the children think…
The classroom door is painted in white (the element of Air).
The students make a plate and write the word LIFE on the plate. They put the plate on the classroom door. The students’ classroom now has its own name, value and spirit.
That is how we want to give spirit and life to every classroom and not think of it as a room number. We want children to feel comfortable, safe and protected in this new environment.
If we can give a name to a toy to make it special, why not give a name to a classroom?
Going out of the classroom and into the corridor on the 1st floor, we’ll see a white frieze starting from the white door with information about the meaning of the white colour.
There is another frieze on the 2nd floor starting again from the white door which shows the meaning of the element of Air.
Air is one of the elements that are essential for life on Earth, people’s health and Nature. There is no life without air.
It is important for our future on the planet Earth that we teach students from an early age to be responsible for nurturing the air around us.
We need intelligent children who are aware of and love and respect every element in Nature.
