The school before the project
Inspiration for the interior design
Academician Ivan Gyuzelev High School of Science and Mathematics is a specialised high school that organises training in Mathematics and Science with intensive courses in English and German. Therefore, our inspiration for the interior design have been numbers, nature and ecology. We want our students to understand nature better so they have a better understanding of everything about life.
Project description
Each classroom has a different colour and individual photo wallpaper to create comfort and beauty. Classrooms where different subjects are studied have images depending on the subject studied. There are also messages and a lot of learning information. Lobbies offer small areas for gatherings and communication – wider sections with movable furniture suitable for the school. There are corners with beautiful plants, modular furniture and boards, showing school life and school achievements.
Teachers and students’ ideas are incorporated into the new design of the learning environment. Teachers joined the project by giving inspiring ideas, positive words and teaching materials which are shown on the photo wallpaper of their choice. As a result of the year-long work of all teachers, students and parents, the school has been transformed. Everyone has the feeling that school has become their second home.
First floor
“Technologies and algorithms“
Our school aims to meet the educational needs of students through innovation, personal approach, modern and positive environment. Photo wallpapers and friezes on this floor have positive affirmations. Technologies give people the opportunity to be more confident and able to learn everything they want to.

“Mathematics“
Mathematics is at the heart of professions of the future. Each classroom will be unique as each one of them will have its own photo wallpaper with interesting thoughts and affirming messages, and words added to them.
Third Floor
“Ecology“
Ecology, including environment protection and spiritual improvement will be the theme for the friezes and wallpapers on this floor. The unity of mind and body is a precondition for achieving health and perfection. Factors needed for this are positive thinking, movement, and self-improvement.
Fourth Floor 4 – Planned for 2023
“Statistics“
Images in the corridors and foyers on the fourth floor will be related to Statistics. Statistics includes planning and organising data collection through surveys and experiments. Various statistical methods are applied to a wide range of spheres, such as Natural and Social Sciences, Public Administration and Business, all of them being important to our students.
