The school before the project
Inspiration for the interior design
Our mission is to work and be creative in a positive, modern, and pleasant learning environment. We want to create a modern, beautiful, and innovative school. With the help of a new interior design and different colour solutions, magnificent photo wallpapers and colourful corners, we will completely transform the interior of classrooms and lobbies. They will be bright and colourful, and welcoming. This is a way to motivate students during classes, to empathise with teachers, and to feel significant participants in the process. We want them to enjoy the surrounding environment and the work they have done. It will be possible for their cherished dreams to come true and to enjoy every moment in their favourite school.
Project Description
Students are at the centre of the learning process and play an active role in this modern student-centred educational model. If we shift the focus from the traditional learning environment and turn the old classrooms into relaxing spaces, then children will communicate more easily with each other, will work efficiently as a team, and will feel inspired and happy to show their creative abilities. This project is a huge challenge for us and a new experience through which we could turn our dreams into reality. We want students to understand how vast, enjoyable, and emotional the world of knowledge is. We want them to learn in harmony and create beauty. We’ll be happy for them to have bold dreams and pursue their goals, belief in themselves, and grow up as successful, and capable young people.
Building 1
Ground floor – Not to be Done
‘A round-the-world trip’
Students study here History and Civilizations, Geography and Economics, and Foreign Languages. The school Psychologist’s office is also on this floor, so is the Game room. Each classroom has an individual photo wallpaper which harmonises with the subject studied. Traveling in the world of knowledge is a necessity and a way of thinking. The wallpaper images motivate students to get to know the world around them and within themselves. They are inspired to conquer new peaks and be emotional about the world. The friezes in the corridor contain positive and beautiful messages.
First floor
‘Dreamers’
All primary school students and some of the secondary school students enter the building through the main entrance. The first thing they can see is the image of a girl sitting on the globe. She’s looking at the world through binoculars. The girl is surrounded by blue skies and white clouds, a beautiful city, a well-maintained park, flying planes, and rockets. Their flight symbolises the freedom of children’s imagination and their countless dreams. The friezes are the same as the main wallpaper. The latter welcomes the students and fills them with positive energy and wonderful mood. The wallpaper has numerous positive affirmations. Primary teachers’ classrooms have themed wallpapers from favourite children’s works with fairy-tale characters. The youngest students capture the magic and wisdom of children’s fairy tales. We aim to influence their senses with beautiful images and colours. It’s an exciting experience for them. All classrooms on the first floor have pots with air-purifying plants and lots of herbs. The goal is to improve air quality by boosting oxygen levels and benefit from the healing aromas.
Second floor
‘The Earth is in our hands’
Mother Earth needs us to protect, love and most importantly not change it, because we need Mother Earth, too. The aim is for students to come together to protect the environment, understand the importance of protecting our natural resources – water, air, minerals, soil, plants, and animals. Wallpaper on this floor shows the globe. Friezes show greenery, butterflies, and the globe that ‘gives birth’ to life. Positive affirmations can also be seen.
This is where the IT classroom is located. It creates the prerequisites for developing digital competence of students. The school is where adolescents prepare for future challenges. This is how they become ambitious, enterprising, creative and with the mindset that they will keep learning throughout their lives.
We have chosen wallpaper with images of beautiful spring flowers for the Teacher’s room. The goal is for the gentle pink colour to have a calming effect on our senses and capture the scent of fresh spring air.
Building 2 – planned for 2022
First floor
‘Search, dream, find’
We all have dreams. However, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and hard work to turn your dreams into reality. The Natural Sciences classroom is on this floor where our students will study the environment, living and non-living matter. The wonderful wallpaper with positive messages helps students in their search of the causal relationship between man and nature. The Bulgarian Language and Literature classroom has a powerful image of the immense power of reading. Books help students visit a world of fantasy, full of messages and hope for beauty, and kindness. The Maths classroom has photo wallpaper with formulas and scientific information. We want to help our future discoverers of mathematical theorems. Friezes in the lobby show the origin of life on our planet.
Building 3 – planned for 2022
‘Inspiration’
School is a place where you let your imagination run free. Thanks to acquired knowledge and skills, students have the courage and inspiration to show their talent and artistic potential. The Arts classroom has photo wallpaper, showing a creative child making a dream into reality. We want children to express through Art the emotion they experience in achieving the ultimate goal. Friezes in the lobbies are filled with images showing life and colour. They contain positive affirmations. There are 2 classrooms here. The use of themed wallpapers has been inspired by magic fairies, fairy-tale castles, and favourite characters. They all bring a sense of magic, light, harmony, adventure, friendship, and freedom.
Canteen
‘Good food – good life’
We take a great care of ensuring adequate and healthy eating for our children. We want them to develop the right eating habits from early childhood. This is of particular importance for creating a healthy diet model. The wallpaper in the canteen shows the best products and foods for a healthy diet: fruits, vegetables, dairy products, fibre, and meat.
