‘I love my school’

The school before the project

Inspiration for the interior design:

Our wish is to make our school beautiful, modern, and motivating for students and teachers. We want our school to be modern and different; we want a school of the present and a school of the future.  When beautiful images are used throughout school, the learning process becomes easy and pleasant – aggression and tension go down. That is why we have chosen images from nature – sunflowers, lavender, butterflies – which make you feel happy, regardless of age.

Project description

First floor

“Little Ladybug”

All students enter school through the main entrance and lobbies. A tiny red ladybird, crawling in tall green grass and warmed by the sun greets all students. It is part of nature. Ladybirds are among the most loved insects. They symbolise good luck and happiness. Make a wish when it lands on you, and it will come true. Their bright red colour is very beautiful and pleasing to the eye. Our goal is for students to get to know nature and notice beauty in every detail. We want them to feel the power of beauty and energy and be motivated. We want to create a special mood as soon as they enter school.

Second floor

“Europe and Bulgaria”

Europe and Bulgaria – The map of Europe and the map of Bulgaria on two opposite walls Erasmus, European Union, solidarity and tolerance, knowledge, and creativity, exchange of visits, experience, sharing and interaction, friendship, and cooperation. This is the most beautiful floor – Europe and Bulgaria. Our goal is for students in years 8 -12 to get to know not only Bulgaria, but also Europe and other European countries, to perceive differences and traditions. We want our students to get to know and love Bulgaria – ‘My country, my Bulgaria’.  The wallpaper used will motivate them to travel.

Third floor

“Purple, fragrant fairy tale”

Lavender is a very fragrant herb that stimulates mood and relieves anxiety. Students on this floor are from year 5 and 8. The Physics and Geography classrooms are also on this floor. There is a sofa in the lobby and many plants are to be seen around. The walk continues along the corridors with friezes between classroom doors. We have chosen a delicate pink-purple colour and scents to create a relaxing ambience. Our goal is to educate, motivate and make students experience aesthetic pleasure, cosiness, and comfort.

Fourth floor

“Summer fairy tale”

Book, cup of coffee and a green lawn. Here we will meet students from year 6, 7 and 9. This is the Chemistry classroom. It is an amazing combination of colours and symbolism – knowledge, aromatic drink, and endless green meadows. One can enjoy the most pleasant scents. There is a sofa, a section with books, there are flowers around. There are friezes in the corridors and the atmosphere is great. We want students to enjoy colours, scents, and sounds. We want them to rest actively, enjoy the atmosphere and communicate.

Old building

 First floor

“Sunflowers”

We chose Sunflowers for the young students from year 3 and 4. The sunflower is a symbol of important and powerful elements. It is directly related to the sun, the life force of our solar system. The sun is a symbol of light, warmth, and life. Our goal is for students to recharge with energy and beauty, to relax and talk in the lobies, where they can enjoy the beautiful images on the photo wallpapers.

Second floor

“The world of butterflies”

Fine Arts and Music classrooms are on the second floor, as well as year 2 classrooms. The images used inspire students to learn about nature, society, and people. We have used friezes with bright and colourful butterflies between classroom doors along the second-floor corridors. Butterflies symbolise beauty, curiosity, and children’s thirst for life. We will stimulate children’s adventurous spirit and encourage them to discover new ideas and new places to express their interests.

Classrooms

Each room has its own photo wallpaper with positive messages and learning information.

Children and flowers

Creating special areas with air-purifying plants and herbs in classrooms: The aim is to enrich the air with oxygen and healing scents to help clean indoor air by producing more oxygen and releasing healing scents, so children would be healthier, and improve their performance and focus.
